Game Instructions
Game Setup
- Agree on the Labyrinth Size
- A 10×10 grid is standard.
- Easy Mode: ~10 tiles for the labyrinth.
- Standard Mode: ~20-30 tiles.
- TIP: A longer labyrinth increases difficulty and game duration.
- Create Your Labyrinth (In Secret!)
- Each player receives a sheet with two grids:
- Left Grid – Used to design their own labyrinth.
- Right Grid – Used to track progress in the opponent's labyrinth.
- Privately, each player marks a starting position (X) on their own grid, ideally on the edge.
- Privately, each player marks a hidden treasure (O) somewhere in their labyrinth.
- The starting position (X) is then shared with the opponent, but the labyrinth and treasure location must remain secret.
- Without revealing anything to the opponent, each player draws a single path connecting their starting position (X) to their treasure (O), adding dead ends and misleading paths.
Gameplay
Turn Structure
- Players decide who starts first (order doesn't affect the outcome).
- Players move step by step through their opponent's labyrinth:
- Declare the coordinate where you want to move.
- Your opponent checks their own secret labyrinth and confirms if it is a valid corridor.
- If valid, you move there and can take up to five steps in one turn.
- If you hit a wall, you stay on the last correct tile, and your turn ends.
- The opponent then takes their turn in the same manner.
- The game continues until one player reaches the opponent's treasure.
Winning the Game:
- The first player to reach their opponent's treasure wins.
- If both players reach the treasure in the same round, the game ends in a draw.
Game Variants
- Movement Rules
- Easy Mode: You can move from any previously discovered corridor tile.
- Hard Mode: You can only move from your current position. If you want to explore a different route, you must walk back using available moves.
- Obstacles & Traps
Players may introduce additional obstacles, such as traps (e.g., forced movement restrictions or extra turns lost).
